The developers at Daybreak Game Company (man, it feels weird to say that) are aware of the hacking and cheating going on in H1Z1. They're aware of the bugs and the issues with loot that can result in feelings of frustration. But they aren't ignoring these issues.
The lack of updates regarding these issues have led some to question where the developers' priorities are. Don't worry, they are aware of it all. And just because they don't mention anything, doesn't mean they aren't already working on a fix. They are just opting not to tip their hand to those who are currently cheating and hacking.
"I can completely understand any frustrations for the cheaters, for the bugs, and for the loot, and all the many other things that we are still working on," said technical director Tom Schenck.
"Please don't assume we're not doing anything about it. We don't call out in any patch notes what and/or when we make changes," he explained. "We don't discuss specifics about actions or methods because it helps the cheaters out. They are reading these and other forums trying to get information because the systems we use are working."
"There are anti-cheat measures in place that are automatic. We also have the ability to perform manual bans. Both are effective," he added.
As an early access game, bugs and other issues are to be expected. Even hackers and cheats, to a certain extent, should be expected in an online game. It sucks, but that's the nature of the beast. At least it's in early access right now and not the official launch. In this stage, the developers can continue to address these problems. In fact, just last week Daybreak did a complete server wipe which was much-needed given all the changes that had been made to the loot system since the game entered early access. Sometimes you need to just start from scratch, and early access allows for that. So be patient, just because things may seem rough right now doesn't mean the developers are working on solutions.
