Remember DayZ? That hardcore survival game set in Russia during the zombie apocalypse that took the world by storm for like a year? The one that everyone begged for a console version of when it was still hot? Well, it’s finally coming!
Ironically, it will not come to PS4 yet, the place it was originally announced for back at Gamescom in 2014. After many years of waiting, an almost entirely new version of the zombie survival game is coming to Xbox One. DayZ will hit Xbox One on August 29th, 2018 through the console’s early access preview program. PS4 players will likely be left waiting until the game hits 1.0 on consoles as PlayStation is pretty strict about allowing early access games on the platform for a price.
You can check out a trailer below.
DayZ is one of the most hardcore games you can play as you’re forced to fulfill basic human needs like eating, manage your health no matter what it takes (including cannibalism), and more. The world of DayZ allows for an incredible metagame where you can’t trust anybody but also may need to rely on others for help through trading supplies and finding someone with the same blood type as you when you’re bleeding out so you can get a blood transfusion.
No pricing has been announced but if we had to take a guess, it’ll be $29.99 during the preview program like most other games with a price increase when it hits 1.0. DayZ will release on Xbox One on August 29th.
