THQ Nordic, the company that saved the THQ namesake and titles like Darksiders, has announced the return of another classic. They’ve announced that de Blob is coming to Nintendo Switch later in 2018.
The often forgotten or looked over classic is set to take a second swing at the market with a remastered version of the Wii title. THQ Nordic takes the role of publisher, while BlitWorks once again works on the development of the port.
The announcement comes from THQ Nordic’s own blog post which describes the game for those who haven’t had the chance to play it.
The evil I.N.K.T. Corporation has declared ‘Color is a Crime!’ and leeched Chroma City of all its beauty and interest. The race to rescue Chroma City has just begun, and only de Blob can save the world from a black-and-white future with his unique abilities to color the world back to life.
As mentioned above, de Blob was originally a Wii title, also available on iOS. Last year, the game was also ported to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It finally rounds out the current generation with a Nintendo Switch release. A sequel was released in 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
The latest Nintendo Switch version of de Blob doesn’t have a specific release window, but THQ Nordic promises a 2018 release.
