Dead Island developer unveils new game Hellraid (formerly Project Hell)

Techland's mysterious FPS hack n' slash, codenamed Project Hell, is now officially called Hellraid. The developer officially unveiled its first-person co-op slasher today. As explained prior to today's announcement, Hellraid originally started as "an internal weapon mod for Dead Island."

"The armies of Hell brought pain and destruction to the realm of man, and only a select few have the fighting skills necessary to confront the devilish monstrosities," a brief description of the new game explains. Hellraid will offer a story-driven single-player campaign alogn with a unique, co-op multiplayer that pits four players against the denizens of hell — and each other — in "a battle for points, rewards, and fame."

Hellraid is due out later this year on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
