Deep Silver has begun closed-beta registration for its upcoming free-to-play zombie MOBA, Dead Island: Epidemic.
The multiplayer online battle arena game — which the developer is calling a "ZOMBA" because it features zombies — pits three teams of four against each other as they compete for supplies, maintain key points on the map, and, yes, kill the undead.
Players will have direct control over their hero character, which makes Epidemic a little different from other MOBAs. "No Last Hitting, mouse-click-to-move nonsense here," the game page reads.
Players can also craft weapons, a feature carried over from the Dead Island survival-action role-playing games.
No release date has been set for Epidemic.
