Dead or Alive 5 Plus on Vita will feature cross-platform play with PS3

Team Ninja today released all-new details regarding their upcoming fighting game Dead or Alive 5 Plus for the PlayStation Vita. The big news coming out of today's announcement is that the game launch with cross-platform features allowing players to play matches against opponents on both PS3 and PS Vita, while sharing costumes across both platforms.

Team Ninja also touched on the game's Touch Play Mode which includes two new styles of touch combat with the Vita held vertically in portrait mode to get a first-person, full-screen view of your opponent. Mode one offers the most simplistic gameplay, letting you simply tap the opponent on screen to attack them in that spot. Mode 2 allows for more finesse and options as you can touch, flick, and pinch the screen to attack.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus will also include a training mode filled with fun challenges to increase your skill and "three times the detail for each move in real time."

Developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo Koei, Dead or Alive 5 Plus is set to release for PS Vita on March 22, 2013.
