Dead Rising 3: Apocalypse Edition hits Steam today, and will allow PC players to experience the carnage of Los Perdidos, as it's swarmed by thousands of zombies, just waiting to be mutilated by a myriad of DIY weapons.
However, one notable aspect of Dead Rising 3 on the PC is that the game comes capped at 30 frames per second. That's strange considering PC games generally don't have to deal with caps on frame rates. Certainly not ones that are console ports.
However, Bandai Namco fully acknowledges this and provides a solution for those that are willing to change a few settings in the Dead Rising 3 install folder.
Note that the game is capped at 30FPS but if you would like to mess with that, create a “user.ini” file which contains a single line: "gmpcr_unlock_frame_rate = True” (no quotes) and place it in the same folder as deadrising3.exe before running the game
For those that require a more step by step version:
Since this isn't done within the game, users might experience unintended issues with the game, so do this at your own risk.
