Capcom's Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising has shipped one million units, as of December 20, 2013, the company announced. However, It's important to remember that "units shipped" is not the same as "units sold," and is, therefore, not a full indication of how the game is performing in terms of sales.
Still, Capcom must be reasonably happy with its results, especially considering it's a launch title for a brand new console. Dead Rising 3 is also Capcom's 62nd title to sell at least one million copies. Looking to improve on sales, Dead Rising 3 will continue to be supported with downloadable content, the first of which arrived this week.
Operation Broken Eagle, the first episode in the game's "Untold Stories of Los Perdidos" four-part content series, released this week. This episode puts players in control of Spec Ops commander Adam Kane as he's tasked with finding the missing President of the United States. It's available for free to Season Pass holders, or for $9.99 by itself.
Talking up the franchise as a whole, Capcom also noted that cumulative shipments of the Dead Rising series, as of December 31, 2013, has totaled over seven million units worldwide.
