Dead Rising 4 was leaked a lot before it's reveal on Monday at Microsoft's E3 briefing, and we finally saw that Frank West was coming back. The star of the first two games returns, but it's not the same Frank West. This time around there is a new actor playing the role as you can definitely hear the difference in his voice.
Eurogamer was able to get a hands on with the game and capture 14 minutes of gameplay. The game is still in early development supposedly, but by all accounts the game looks very shoddy with its release upcoming later this year. The video shows eternal loading screens, low frame rates, a less than adequate HUD and choppy graphics.
There are also some environmental factors that don't seem to make sense either. For example, at one point, Frank is able to walk through fire without getting injured, but an enemy that is on fire causes damage to him. One thing that is interesting, in a good way, is the weapon variation. Dead Rising 3 saw every weapon, including steel blades, eventually break down inexplicably. The weapons in this game are extremely original as only Dead Rising can make them, and it appears that they are either indestructible or simply withstand much more damage as they never showed that "glow red" indicator alluding to an explosion.
The best weapon in the trailer can be seen at the end, with the dune buggy equipped with the rotating mini-gun on the roof. It was able to take out about 1,500 zombies before blowing up, and it ended in Frank West saying "Thanks Obama!" before picking up another slaughter tool.
Dead Rising 4 is due out this holiday on both Windows 10 and Xbox One in its new Play Anywhere program.
