Video games are weird. Some are far weirder than others and one of those is the Twin Peaks-inspired 2010 game Deadly Premonition. It’s a game so strange, so bizarre, that no one really knew what to make of it at the time but it developed a strong cult following.
To say no one ever expected a sequel would likely be an understatement but here we are. Today during the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo dropped a surprise announcement by unveiling a direct sequel to Deadly Premonition is coming in 2020. Details are scarce on the sequel right now but it looks to carry the same tone, characters, and style of the first game.
Speaking of the first game, Nintendo announced that the original Deadly Premonition will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop starting today. It’s unclear if any changes have been made to it or if it’s just a basic port.
It also remains unclear if Deadly Premonition 2 will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch or if it’ll come to other consoles at launch/later down the line.
