Deadpool 2 eyeing John Wick director David Leitch for same position

According to a report by Mashable, John Wick director David Leitch is the frontrunner to direct Deadpool 2 since Tim Miller has left the project.

The outlet cites multiple sources, but nothing has been confirmed yet from Fox. Tim Miller left the film last week after creative differences with Ryan Reynolds. Miller supposedly wanted to add more of a focus as he runs his own company, while Reynolds wanted to of course double down on the classic Deadpool humor. There are also rumors the two could not come to an agreement on the casting of Cable, who will be the counterpart in the sequel.

Leitch did not direct, but he was the action coordinator in X-men Origins: Wolverine which saw Reynolds make his debut as Wade Wilson. He has also worked on other films including Blade, Fight Club, Jurassic World and Captain America: Civil War.

We'll follow this story closely and update you as we hear more.
