Deadpool sequel has already been greenlit

20th Century Fox's upcoming Marvel anti-hero movie, Deadpool, hasn’t even hit theaters yet, and already the studio is banking on a hit. Fox has such high expectations from the film that the studio has already greenlit a sequel.

Reports coming from The Hollywood Reporter state that Fox has already given the green light and that the Deadpool sequel is currently in the works. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote Deadpool, will be returning to write the script for the sequel. Tim Miller, director of Deadpool, has not signed on to help the film as of yet, but it is said that "Fox is intent on keeping the creative team together."

In a recent interview with MTV International, T.J. Miller, who plays as Weasel, spoke about how he would like the sequel to focus on his character becoming the hero. Check out T.J. Miller and Ryan Reynolds kick around ideas of the sequel's plot.
