Death Stranding Launch Trailer is 8mins of haunting weirdness

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has a launch trailer and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. With a duration of 8 minutes, there’s plenty of exposition here, but it still manages to stay shrouded in a thick layer of mystery. The game is launching next week, November 8th for PlayStation 4. Watch it here!

Each and every trailer Japanese game creator Hideo Kojima puts out is a happening on its own. Kojima is a true master of creating intrigue with his meticulously edited promotional materials, and Death Stranding is no exception. Despite clocking in at 8 minutes, you’ll be left with more question marks than answers. To distill it to its purest form, Death Stranding is a package delivery simulator but in reality its anything but mundane. From the insanely detailed open-world and characters to its combat mechanics and most of all, the outright crazy supernatural themes, Kojima is poised to deliver one of the most unique experiences this generation.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.

But not being an open book and letting players discover what the game is about is one of the best things about Death Stranding. Just be prepared to encounter a bizarre post-apocalyptic world with supernatural forces amidst the backdrop of reestablishing society in the United States of America. With an insanely star-studded cast of Hollywood actors, you can also look forward to some of the best acting in gaming, period.

Death Stranding is going to release exclusively on the PlayStation 4 next week, but a PC port has just been announced. You can look forward to playing the game on PC early next summer.
