PC gamers who were looking forward to experiencing Hideo Kojima’s 2019 PlayStation 4 exclusive Death Stranding will have to wait one extra month. The ambitious open-world game joins the ever-growing list of games that got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
2020 is undoubtedly going to go down in the history books for showing the world that despite technological advancements, the age-old threat of pandemics is real and alive. Many workers have already shifted to remote working and the same also goes for game developers. And while that industry is better suited for remote work than others, it still presents a challenge for studios all across the globe.
From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience. Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the disconnected remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to reconnect the shattered world one step at a time.
This naturally has led to companies needing time to adjust their workflows. An expected but still regrettable outcome of this massive change in how games are being created at the moment is numerous delays for many game releases. Kojima Production’s PC port of Death Stranding is the latest of games that cannot adhere to its original release date.
But thankfully, unlike other games whose release has been pushed many months and even indefinitely, Hideo Kojima and his team only had to take an extra month. It surely must help that the game is actually long fully finished and we’re just talking about a PC port but still, the silver lining in today’s delay news is that PC players will only have to muster up four additional weeks of patience.
Death Stranding is now slated to come out on PC July 14th via Steam and Epic Games Store.
