Death Stranding to get new look tomorrow with possible release date

Death Stranding is one of the most anticipated games out there at the moment. It’s Hideo Kojima’s first game since departing from Konami where he is seemingly given total creative freedom. After roughly three years of waiting for a meaty look at the game, it seems we’re finally about to get it.

We’ve spent years chewing on weird trippy trailers filled with babies, a naked Norman Reedus, and weird supernatural elements but… we still don’t know much about the game. Kojima has talked about the themes, mechanics, and other elements of the game at length but he’s Kojima, so he can intentionally use a lot of words to say very little.

Tomorrow (May 29th), the curtain will be lifted on the mysterious third-person title and we’re expecting gameplay and a release date. Kojima hinted long ago that Death Stranding will come out sometime towards the end of 2019 and early 2020 but he also recently suggested it is slightly behind schedule.

Kojima has been teasing something big for months by posting pictures of him editing a trailer for Death Stranding and more. The last few days, he has also posted teaser videos with cryptic messages such as today’s “Tomorrow is in your hands” message. Some have interpreted this as a playable demo will drop tomorrow on the PlayStation Store but that seems like wishful thinking.

In the meantime, we now have a plot synopsis for Death Stranding.

Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.”

It’s currently a mystery as to what will happen tomorrow but whatever it is, both Kojima and PlayStation are hyping it up significantly. It won’t be some small event, this will likely be our most substantial look at Death Stranding yet.

Regardless of what is shown tomorrow, we’ll be sure to have the full details here on GameZone as soon as it happens.

Death Stranding will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 and has no release date at the moment.
