Death Stranding will launch simultaneously on Steam and EGS

Great news for PC gamers who value choice and option. 505 games have announced that Hideo Kojima’s timed PS4 exclusive Death Stranding will become available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store day and date next summer. The game’s store pages are live now on both PC stores where you can already pre-purchase it for $59.99.

For the longest time, there was confusion among gamers whether Kojima Production’s ambitious new title was a full console exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Only natural, as Sony was marketing and pushing Death Stranding ever since even before it was officially unveiled. After Hideo Kojima infamously left his long-time workplace at Konami, he started his own studio. Since Day 1 Sony was next to the iconic Japanese game designer. Once Death Stranding was unveiled, the entire marketing revolved around the PS4 and everyone slowly got the impression that it turned into a PlayStation exclusive. That’s despite one very early interview snippet suggesting that Kojima was planning a PC release.

From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience. Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the disconnected remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to reconnect the shattered world one step at a time.

Last month then, we finally got official word that Death Stranding was indeed headed to PC, with a belated early summer 2020 release window. Kojima Productions partnered with 505 Games for the PC publishing rights but this time, speculations started swirling whether the game would be an Epic Games Store exclusive. Now, we have confirmation that Death Stranding will, in fact, come out simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Games Store. There’s still no word on the concrete release, however.

If you absolutely cannot wait to experience the crazy ingenuity of Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding is already out now on the PlayStation 4.
