With over 100 "Game of the Year" awards, a new eSports league with a buy in from the owner of the Patriots and record profits, there's no denying that Overwatch is a massive success, but it's also a great game. That being said, some players have been demanding a particular game mode that has been missing from the game since it launched. Today, though, that's all changing as Blizzard is adding both Deathmatch (aka, Free-for-all) and Team Deathmatch to Overwatch.
DM and TDM, much like any other game that features the mode, requires players or teams to reach a designated number of kills in order to win the game. According to the developer update below, Deathmatch requires a player to get 20 kills first, in the Team Deathmatch game, the first team to reach 30 kills wins. With kills limits that low, it makes you wonder how large some of the re-worked existing maps will be when the game modes go live. Games like COD require 75 or 100 kills in order to win a game of Team Deathmatch and they're played on maps that are much smaller than that of Overwatch.
Speaking of maps, Blizzard is preparing a new map as well, one that will take advantage of the new free-for-all deathmatch mode called, Château Guillard, the family Estate of Widowmaker, aka Amélie Guillard Lacroix, Lacroix is her married name.
For those PC players out there, the new Deathmatch modes are rolling out now on the PTR.
