In 2007, Japanese arcades saw the debut of one of the trippiest side-scroller shoot-em-ups they've seen, Deathsmiles. The game features six different game modes, two player co-op, and the extra challenging Counter system.
"Deathsmiles is CAVE's bullet-hell shoot-'em-up where you take the role of one of five Angels to defend the magical land of Gilverado from an invasion by Hell itself! Eradicate this devilish assault!"
With its increasing popularity, it was ported to the X-Box 360 in 2009, and by 2011 it had sold over 100,000 copies. Until recently, it has only been available on both iOS and Android mobile devices.
Game publisher, DegiGames, just announced they were finishing up beta testing and the game would officially be available on Steam as of March 10th! BONUS: The soundtrack will be included with any download sold in the first week!
