December’s PS Plus games announced for PS4, PS3, and Vita

Sony has announced and previewed the free games PlayStation Plus members will be receiving for December.

As we learned earlier this month, Secret Ponchos and Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Evil Edition will both be free for PlayStation 4. Of course, we're also awaiting the release of Driveclub: PS Plus Edition which has been put on hold indefinitely while developer Evolution Studios works on stabilizing the servers.

On PS3, we're getting Hitman HD Trilogy and Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut. And finally, for you Vita owners, you'll get Final Horizon and Titan Attacks!

Sony has created a nice little video previewing each game.

PS4

Secret Ponchos

Set in the stylish Wild West, Secret Ponchos is a PvP shooter inspired by fighting games and spaghetti westerns. The game pits players against one another in a fast-paced arena where outlaws must use skill and precision timing to come out on top.

Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition

From NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the Mortal Kombat franchise, comes Injustice: Gods Among Us, a new fighting game featuring characters from DC Comics. The Ultimate Edition enhances the original experience with six new playable characters (Lobo, Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhuner, Zatanna, and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion), over 30 new skins, and 60 new S.T.A.R. Labs missions.

PS3

Hitman HD Trilogy

Agent 47's classic hits are now bundled together in one fantastic HD collection. The Hitman HD Trilogy includes Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money.

Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut

Return to the mysterious town of Greenvale where you'll investigate the murder of a young woman, and discover more secrets. The Director's Cut features beautifully redefined graphics and a complete overhaul of the game's controls.

PS Vita

Final Horizon

Described as "2 minute tower defense," Final Horizon is a new take on the strategy genre, combining fast-paced action and deep strategy. Final Horizon takes you on a daring mission across the galaxy where you'll fight the mysterious and deadly Swarm.

Titan Attacks! (PS4/PS3/Vita)

Titan Attacks! is a cross-buy title, meaning if you download it for Vita, you'll also get it on PS4 and PS3. As for the game itself, you'll single-handedly have to turn back the invading evil Titan army, driving back the aliens across the Solar System until you can defeat them on their homeworld. This modern remix of classic arcade shoot 'em ups is easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master, and packed full of new features, strategies, and neo-retro visuals.

All of December's free PlayStation Plus games will go live on December 2, 2014, at which point all of November's PS Plus games will go back to regular price. So consider this a heads up to go ahead and download all of this month's free games.

Continuing to look ahead, Sony has already revealed the two PS Plus games for PS4 in January 2015: inFAMOUS: First Light and The Swapper. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait to learn the PS3 and Vita games.
