The creator of the show-meets-MMO Defiance is closing down its San Diego studio. Trion Worlds is moving all current development to its Redwood City headquarters.
"The day to day operations of Defiance will be moved to our Redwood City studio where it can be managed alongside Rift and our other in-development titles including ArcheAge and End of Nations," the company said in a statement. "As part of this transition, we are working hard to ensure that a number of great people will be making the move from San Diego to the Bay Area and continue their work at Trion."
The company also appointed chief creative officer Scott Hartsman, who's the executive producer on Rift, to chief executive officer.
Defiance is a recent massive multiplayer online first-person shooter that ties in with the similarly named Syfy TV show, and End of Nations is due out as a MOBA, or multiplayer online battle arena game, with elements of real-time strategy. The company launched Rift, an MMORPG, back in 2011.
