Long before Bloodborne, before Dark Souls even, there was a little known game called Demon's Souls. Developed by FromSoftware, the challenging action-RPG released exclusively on PlayStation 3 in 2009.
Despite its niche market, Demon's Souls was met with acclaim for its dark fantasy design and brilliant combat mechanics (coupled with high difficulty level). Perhaps more importantly, it set the stage for its future spiritual successors — the Dark Souls series. And inspired by it was also FromSoftware's PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne.
So what am I getting at with this? Well, there's a chance Demon's Souls might be coming to PlayStation 4. Last week, the official Bloodborne social media channel tweeted an image of a stack of Bloodborne cases, and atop that stack was Demon's Souls, perhaps suggesting a PS4 port of the game is on the way.

Make of it what you will, but if Demon's Souls really is getting remastered for the PlayStation 4, chances are we'll hear about at the PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco this weekend (December 5-6). Having just bought Bloodborne on Black Friday, I'm eager to dive into the brutal combat promised by FromSoftware. Who knows, perhaps when I finish that it'll be time for Demon's Souls. Haven't even played a lick of either game and I already feel like I can take on the entire Empire myself.
