Destiny 2 Beta now open to everyone on Xbox One, PS4

Except for PC players, you have to wait until August

If haven't pre-ordered Destiny 2 or haven't been fortunate enough to win a beta key somewhere online, today is your lucky day! Bungie has lifted the gate and made the Destiny 2 beta open to everyone with a PS4 and Xbox One. The opening of the beta starts at 1PM EST, 10 PM PST and 6PM PST.

The beta allows players to see not all, but some, of the newest features that are set to make Destiny 2, differ from the first game. Players will be able to experience the new competitive crucible mode, that is now 4 vs 4, as well as try out the first mission, called Homecoming. This mission is critical in showing Bungie's commitment to making Destiny 2 more story driven, compared to the first game.

For those players who are eager to try out a Strike, with up to three friends, you can play the mode set in the Vex Stronghold. If you don't have enough friends to fill up an entire fire team, there's matchmaking available to fill those empty slots.

With the Tower being destroyed, as seen in the pre-release trailer, the players' main hub has been changed to what is now known as "the Farm." Here players can relax, be social, see new vendors, get details on story and more, like partaking in activities, such as soccer.

Destiny 2 is set to launch on September 6 for Xbox One (S and X) and PS4 (and Pro), with PC gamers having to wait until October 24. The good news is that the PC beta will commence in August, so, you've got that going for you.
