Destiny 2 Guide: How to Activate Heroic Public Events

With Destiny 2 having released it's time to discover what the world has in store for you without having to think too hard. That's where guides come into play.

Public Events are nothing new to Destiny, but in Destiny 2, you can get a bit more out of each event. During the events, you have the ability to trigger a Heroic Public Event, which increases the difficulty and offers better loot.

Below, you will find the steps on how to trigger Heroic Public Events during Public Events:

Fallen Glimmer Event

In the Public Event, you must stop Fallen from stealing Glimmer. To trigger the Heroic Public Event you need to destroy all three Glimmer nodes during the event. If you're shooting a node and it's showing damage numbers, you found it.

The Heroic Event will have you capturing a point and defeating waves of enemies and a boss, the boss is the one that drops extra loot.

Fallen Ether Event

The Public Event asks you to kill the big Servitor, but to trigger the Heroic event, you need to destroy all small Servitors that spawn during the encounter and assist the big one (prepare with heavy ammo, there's one big annoying wave of them).

During the Heroic Public Event, the big Servitor becomes stronger and needs to be defeated.

Spider Tank Event on Titan

This Public Event is the same as in Destiny 1, just kill the spider tank. To trigger the Heroic Event you must disable all three force fields by using six arc charges – it requires two arc charges per forcefield.

Break the spider tank's legs to get this done.

The Heroic version will feature another, stronger, tank that will drop down to be defeated.

Witches Ritual Event

On Titan.

The regular event has you killing two Wizards, which will spawn another enemy. To trigger the Heroic you must destroy the two shielded crystals. The shields can only be brought down when shooting at them when standing on the Hex Circles.

The Heroic version will spawn a new enemy, a knight, with a gigantic ax.

Vex Construction Event

Like the event in Destiny, stop the Vex from sacrificing themselves. For the Heroic event to trigger, you need to activate the three Vex plates that spawn during the event by standing in them until they hit 100%.

The Heroic version spawns a lot more enemies and big hydra.

Cabal Extraction

Stand by the drill to override, watching out for missiles and enemies in the meanwhile. Once the drill hits 50% a Cabal Thresher ship will appear. To initiate the Heroic version, destroy the Cabal Thresher ship while it patrols the area.

The Heroic version features a big Cabal Excavator Unit that needs to be destroyed.
