Destiny 2 is rumored to be undergoing major changes

Just after a leak about Destiny's next expansion, we got word from a source at Kotaku that Destiny 2 is still on track to release next year but has undergone some major changes.

The sequel to the massively successful sci-fi shooter was supposed to release sometime this year, but Activision decided to delay it to next year most likely to get some more money out of the first game. The sequel has supposedly been 'rebooted' at Bungie and The Taken King's director Luke Smith will be overseeing the project after a reorganization at Bungie.

It's unclear exactly what major changes the sequel will be seeing, but I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something about the sequel at E3 next month following the announcement of the new Destiny expansion titled Rise of Iron.

Activision recently reported there are over 30 million registered players on the MMO-like shooter and confirmed the existence of a sequel earlier this year. Bungie has a lot to follow after Ubisoft's The Division which took PC and console platforms by storm, even kicking the game off it's throne of best selling new IP.
