On August 1, 2017, all existing Destiny accounts will automatically undergo an Account Migration process to Destiny 2. Prior to making the transfer, you should know what will transfer and what will not, as well as what the requirements are! There are specific Guardian features that will be making the transfer, which you can see below:
- Character class, race, and gender selections
- Character face, hair, and marking selections
- Character creation date
- An assortment of Destiny accomplishments as listed below
It should be noted that the Account and Character Migration will NOT import any items, game content, Silver, or Eververse Licenses into Destiny 2.
Account and Character Migration
The Guardian migration comes with a set of requirements for you to have met prior to the transfer date, August 1.
- Only Applies to Existing Data: Account and Character Migration will apply to all existing accounts on August 1, 2017. Any Characters created or game progress made after August 1, 2017 will not be represented in Destiny 2.
- Automatic Process: Players are NOT required to log into their Destiny accounts on or after August 1, 2017 to complete the Account and Character Migration process.
- Character Requirements: For a Character's game progression to be recognized in Destiny 2, the Character must have reached at least Level 20 and must not have been deleted at the time of the Account and Character Migration.
- Character Data in Destiny 2: To see their migrated data represented in Destiny 2, players will need to ensure that they use the same PSN or Xbox credentials when logging into Destiny 2.
- No Expiration on Migrated Data: There is currently no time limit or expiration date on accessing Destiny account data that was migrated to Destiny 2.
Completing the following accomplishments in Destiny 1 will grant you Emblems in Destiny 2 if completed prior to August 1, 2017:
- Laurel Triumphant: You completed a Moment of Triumph during Destiny’s first year.
- Laurea Prima II: You completed all 10 Moments of Triumph during Destiny’s first year.
- Slayer of Oryx: You owned The Taken King and completed a Moment of Triumph during Destiny’s second year.
- Heard the Call: You owned The Taken King and completed all 8 Moments of Triumph during Destiny’s second year.
- Young Wolf: You owned Rise of Iron and reached Rank 2 in the Age of Triumph record book.
- Saladin's Pride: You owned Rise of Iron and reached Rank 7 in the Age of Triumph record book.
- Lore Scholar: Your achieved a Grimoire score of over 5,000 in Destiny 1.
