Today, the PC version of Destiny 2 was detailed to be launching exclusively on Blizzard's Battle.net, with 4K resolution support, uncapped framerate, and more. The announcement came at the same time Blizzard released an FAQ on supporting the game on Battle.net.
One of the FAQ questions targeted Destiny 2's release, asking "Where and when will Destiny 2 on PC be available?" Blizzard's response was vague at best:
"We’re excited to work with Bungie to bring the PC version of Destiny 2 to every region Blizzard currently operates in. Bungie is actively working through the global details. We look forward to sharing additional information later this year."
The September 8th release date for Destiny 2 is not located on the FAQ provided by Blizzard.
Video game journalist and show host Geoff Keighley took to Twitter (via NeoGaf)to comment on the possibility of a staggered release for PC.
According to Geoff Keighley, Destiny 2 is "coming soon to PC," which doesn't necessarily mean that it will be releasing alongside the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version on September 8th. Keighley went on to specify that "Bungie is committed to doing the PC version right" and that we can expect "more news down the road on release date."
The staggered release has yet to be confirmed and Bungie has yet to clarify. Hopefully that happens soon.
