Destiny 2’s PC Beta will place some major restrictions on game capture apps

With the Destiny 2 PC Beta on its way, Bungie has come forward to lay out a few restrictions that the game will be laying down on popular streaming apps. If you plan on streaming the game through OBS or XSplit, you will be unable to stream the game in Fullscreen mode due to some code that it inputs into the game client. Bungie says that they want to "ensure that every player will have a fair shot at fun and glory" when playing the game.

Here's a breakdown of what you can and can't do with Destiny 2 streaming courtesy of Bungie:

The Game Capture mode of applications such as OBS and XSplit is not supported. The following methods are supported for capturing video of Destiny 2 on PC:

• To capture while playing in Exclusive Fullscreen:
  • Hardware capture through methods such as Elgato, AVerMedia, or a dedicated streaming PC is supported.
  • NVIDIA Shadowplay and AMD ReLive are supported.
• To capture while playing in Windowed Mode (including Borderless Fullscreen):
  • OBS and XSplit Screen Capture mode is supported.
  • OBS and XSplit Window Capture mode is supported.

Bungie also says that certain overlay features such as "Who's talking" and framerate data are also not supported by Destiny 2.

The Destiny 2 PC Beta goes live later this month on August 29th (or August 28th if you're eligible for Early Access) and runs until August 31st.
