Destiny 2 is going to be a big story very soon, as details about the game's reveal event have shown up on Reddit. Invitations were sent out to a number of gamers, YouTube personalities, and media types alike pointing to May 18th as the date for Destiny 2's gameplay reveal. Here's a look at the slick invitation that was sent out.
There will be a keynote presentation that will begin at 10 AM PST on the 18th with an accompanying livestream, and every attendee will be able to go hands-on with Destiny 2 on both PC and an unknown console (probably the PS4). Expect a ton of YouTubers to capture oodles of gameplay from the event, but it's currently unknown when/if there is an embargo date on that coverage.
It seems as though Bungie is looking to grab some headlines ahead of E3 2017, but that probably won't keep them from having a strong presence in LA in June.
Destiny 2 is expected to be sold through Steam, despite previous fears that Bungie would release their own proprietary platform. There are also rumors that the game will get its first expansion by the end of 2017 and its second in early 2018.
