Destiny and Call of Duty go down as Lizard Squad returns

Notorious hacker group Lizard Squad has returned, launching a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on Destiny and Call of Duty. As a result, players on both games are receiving messages of lost connection in the middle of play. I can confirm this, as I am one of those players.

Some of you may remember Lizard Squad as the ones responsible for attacking several game companies last month. Towards the end of August, the group targeted Sony, taking down PlayStation Network for over a day. They also DDoS attacked Sony Online Entertainment, even go so far as reporting a fake bomb threat on a plane carrying SOE president John Smedley.

Things quieted down in early September, though Lizard Squad did warn they'd be back.

Let's hope the downtime is minimal. I'm in the middle of farming for my Exotic Burst Rifle.
