Destiny Beta undergoes maintenance, will return Wednesday

The Destiny beta, which opened last week for PlayStation gamers, will be closed for today and tomorrow as Bungie performs maintenance.

The good news is that when it returns on Wednesday, July 23, it'll be available for Xbox owners as well. The Destiny beta for Xbox One and Xbox 360 will begin at 10am PDT.

Despite some server issues early on, Destiny had been a fairly smooth experience over the weekend. Hopefully that continues this week when it launches for Xbox platforms.

Destiny's beta is scheduled to close on all platforms at the end of the day on July 27 PDT. Though it hasn't been confirmed, I'm assuming this will be the last time we get to play the highly anticipated MMO shooter until its launch in September. As a quick reminder, if you play Destiny on Saturday, July 26 (beginning at 2pm PDT), you can earn an exclusive emblem for the retail version. Bungie also promises to deliver "some fun and unexpected surprises" throughout the beta.

Have you enjoyed your time with the Destiny beta so far?
