When it comes to PlayStation gamers versus Xbox One gamers, Bungie doesn't see a difference. You're all gamers — hopefully all Bungie fans. So the belief that Bungie hates Xbox owners needs to stop; and in the latest Bungie news update, the developer of Destiny addressed the notion that they are playing favorites.
"We don't hate any of our fans. When we look at Bungie.net, we see gamers," Bungie said.
"We dare say that we see Bungie fans – although that might be assuming too much. Loving a good game and the hard-working developers who create it is not a console exclusive. This is one place where Guardians will truly be equal. You’ll each have a chance to become legend on this site. Our hope is that we can use this environment to talk about the amazing experiences we will all have in common.
"Bungie has embraced many different platforms in our storied history," the developer continued. "We have a hard time sitting still. Our goal has been to create amazing worlds and fill them with as many passionate people as possible. What we would tell you is that, if you want to explore the world of Destiny, it was built with you in mind. We make games here at Bungie. We love the people who play them equally."
Over the past few weeks, Bungie has shared more details about the PlayStation exclusive content which likely explains the recent hostility towards the developer. As the studio responsible for iconic Xbox franchise Halo, many Xbox owners are upset at the developer for striking up a deal with Sony for exclusive content — even though the PlayStation content will eventually release on Xbox platforms anyway. PlayStation platforms are getting all sorts of exclusive items at the launch of Destiny, as well as earlier access to the upcoming beta. Though Xbox owners will be invited to the beta a few days later, they'll have to wait until at least fall 2015 before they see the bonus items released.
