Destiny goes down for planned maintenance

If you're attempting to log in to Destiny and unable to connect to the servers, we have an answer for you — planned maintenance.

Bungie had scheduled maintenance for Destiny today, starting at 8:00am Pacific (11:00am EST). During this time you are not able to log into the game.

Exact details of what's being addressed have not been shared, but the it's a fairly lengthy maintenance period. The maintenance is expected to conclude before 2:00pm Pacific (5:00pm EST).

It's possible today's maintenance is preparing for Destiny's Valentine's Day-themed event "Crimson Days," The special, limited-time event brings a new 2v2 Elimination Crucible mode called "Crimson Doubles."

Today's Thursday, which means we could get more information in Bungie's weekly update.
