Destiny's elusive Sleeper Simulant is one of the most highly coveted weapons in the game. Once a great mystery of The Taken King, the Exotic fusion rifle finally became available last week through a series of quests that remained open only for a short period of time (don't worry, Bungie says they'll return).
While many Guardians eagerly await the return of "The First Firewall" quest to obtain the Sleeper Simulant in-game, a replica of the weapon has been discovered here on Earth. A Guardian by the name "KirbyDowney," perhaps too impatient to wait for warsats on the Cosmodrome, took matters into his own hands and actually created his own real-life version of the Sleeper Simulant using a 3D printer.
"This is probably one of the hardest model i have created," he wrote of the model, which was made in SolidWorks and 3D printed on a Desktop 3D printer. "I've been working on it for a while and was hoping to finish it before it was available in game but here it is nonetheless!"
A few photos of his custom Sleeper Simulant can be found below. It looks just as badass in real life as it does in the game — if not more so for the simple fact that you can actually hold this bad boy in your own hands.
