On September 20th, gamers will get to experience Rise of Iron the brand new expansion for Destiny. This expansion will bring quite a bit of new content and quests to the game, but it will also bring a brand new microtransaction as well.
Last year, Bungie gave us our first taste of microtransactions with the addition of 'Silver,' an in-game currency that can be purchased with real money. When it was first implemented, Silver could be used to purchase emotes off of the Eververse.
With Rise of Iron, players will be able to use the in-game currency to purchase experience boosters. These "Reputation" Boosters will increase the experience gained from Crucible, House of Judgement, and Vanguard.
Fortunately, the booster will not be limited to Silver purchases. Players have the chance of looting boosters in Sterling Treasure Boxes or Radiant treasures.
