Guardians woke up to a bit of a surprise today. It seems that with today's weekly reset, the first Challenge for Destiny's raid has arrived.
As suggested, the raid challenge, well, makes the bosses a bit more challenging. For those who find the King's Fall normal, and hard for that matter, a bit too easy, these challenges will shake things up a bit.
As previously explained, each week we'll see a different boss of King's Fall offer their challenge. This requires that you defeat them in a "very specific manner." This week's challenge involves Warpriest. Although Bungie won't spoil the mechanics, the Destiny subreddit is already filled with guides by Guardians who have successfully complete it.
Challenge mode works in both normal and hard mode of the raid, and will offer rewards to match. Confirmed drops so far include gear at 310 for normal, 320 for hard, as well as a calcified fragment and an emblem.
We know that the three remaining Calcified Fragments are locked behind these challenges, but we still don't know what happens when you collect all 50. I'm assuming you'll be rewarded with some type of Exotic gear, which is possibly also hidden behind another timed activity.
In any case, if you're looking for a new challenge, assemble a fireteam and get going.
Despite the arrival of the first challenge, Bungie has confirmed that the December update will not drop today.
