A recent glitch in Destiny has forced Bungie to cancel the planned Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris events until the glitch can be fixed.
The glitch allows players to get unlimited heavy weapons ammo, making PvP unbalanced since players can run around with unlimited bullets for machine guns or infinite rockets for their launchers. This glitch is now forcing Bungie to cancel their plans for both Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris events until they can find and fix the balance breaking glitch
The Destiny team also took a stab at The Division in their weekly update when talking about this balance breaking glitch and those who use it (Ubisoft is looking to punish Division players for abusing glitches).
"When we learned that some Guardians had discovered a way to earn unlimited rockets, we knew it was time for a bug hunt. Rather than punish players for playing the game in a way we didn’t predict, we’ve been waging an investigation into our code. These things happen, so please don’t panic. We’re on the case – and we’ve slayed more dreaded bugs than these."
Though some players who uses this ammo glitch will get some restrictions thrown upon them "While we won’t ban you for stumbling into a bottomless well of explosive ordnance, we will impose restrictions on players who compromise the overall experience – either willingly or unwillingly," but no banning will occur.
The Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris events will return once Bungie has found and killed this game breaking bug.
