Bungie has announced that the next Iron Banner for Destiny will begin next week at 10:00am Pacific on Tuesday, April 28.
Although the special Crucible event was expected to arrive this week, Bungie admits they wanted some extra time "to fully understand the impact that Update 1.1.2 would have on the Crucible." If you recall, update 1.1.2 implemented a number of tweaks to Destiny's PvP, including changes to ammunition.
Bungie didn't go too far into detail regarding Iron Banner gear coming, but did post some images of the new gear.
In all likelihood, this will be the last Iron Banner event before the arrival of Destiny's next expansion House of Wolves. Fret not, though, because we recently learned you'll have a much easier time upgrading gear after the new expansion hits.
