Following the release of Destiny's November update, the Iron Banner has returned.
Ater what was arguably the worst Iron Banner yet last month, the November update brought some much-needed changes to the special PvP mode, including a complete overhaul in the reward system. For starters, Bungie has increased the drop rate of Legendary gear in the Iron Banner playlist. They've also increased Iron reputation gain from games by 20%, which could be a pretty big deal since they've added a package reward at Rank 3 and 5.
Check out the detailed list of changes below:
- Increased drop rate for Legendary Gear in the Iron Banner playlist
- Increased Iron Banner reputation gain from games by 20%
-
Added a package at Ranks 3 & Rank 5 that grants additional rewards to the player
- Known issue: Some of the items from the Rank 5 package will not be awarded when you open it until you return to orbit
- Added an Iron Banner Ghost Shell that can also drop in the playlist at Rank 5
- Gear that buffs Iron Banner Faction reputation gain now have corresponding perk description and icons
- Fixed an issue where Tempered Buff was not correctly appearing in the Character Screen
With these changes, the Iron Banner is now in full swing. As a reminder, the Iron Banner is a special week-long Crucible event that removes the autobalancing in PvP. In other words, your Guardian's normal level and Light Level (weapons and armor) will actually make a difference in the damage you deal and take. This mode will be playable until next week, so get going Guardians and prove your worth.
Today's update brought a slew of other changes to Destiny as well, including a number of improvements to other aspects of the Crucible. Check out the full patch notes here.
