Destiny’s Vault of Glass completed with just three Guardians

When Bungie first started talking about raids in Destiny, they set the expectation that it was going to be hard. In fact, the sheer difficulty of a raid in the game was one of the reasons they chose not to include matchmaking — because it requires so much cooperation that only a fireteam of six established friends could must the teamwork required to complete it. To Bungie's credit, that's kind of true as it took my group of friends well over six hours to clear the raid for the first time).

Like all MMOs, once a raid is completed once, you learn the tricks. You get the good gear, and it becomes easier. We've now seen players beating Vault of Glass in as little as 37 minutes — with six players of course.

But what happens when a team of three Guardians attempt to tackle the challenging raid?

It takes them just over an hour to clear the entire Vault of Glass, including the last boss, Antheon. Now you're probably wondering how just three players managed to down Antheon when it typically requires at least four (since he teleports three to the other dimension, requiring someone remain outside to keep the portal open). Well, it's kind of a glitch. The key is the have a Warlock in your group who kills himself before Antheon teleports you. Then, once the two players are inside, the Warlock self-resurrects and clears the portal.

Yes, these three players are well-equipped. One even has the Vex Mythoclast, which some argue is the best weapon in Destiny. Regardless, these players make it look easy which suggests that maybe, just maybe, a team of six random strangers could also complete the Vault of Glass. Bungie has teased the potential for Raid matchmaking, but haven't officially announced anything.
