In a livestream focused on showing off new content in Destiny: The Taken King, Bungie spoke a bit more on how they plan to keep Strikes feeling fresh with the new expansion.
"Strikes are an important part of Destiny. We know players are going to run them tim eand time again so we weanted to make that experience less static," explained Design Lead James Tsai.
With The Taken King, Bungie will employ a feature referred to on the stream as "Variable Encounter." With this, Strikes will now boast several different combat setups that offer slight wrinkles in gameplay.
As explained by Tsai, you could enter a room and have to fight Cabal one time. Or you might have to defeat the Taken. Enemies will spawn in different locations. And even dialogue could change.
"Every Strike's going to be a slightly different experience," Tsai promised.
While Tsai did say all Strikes will have variable encounters, it was never clarified if he meant only the ones coming in The Taken King or if Bungie has gone back and tweaked older Strikes. We'll follow up with them for clarification.
