Destiny’s Taken King expansion includes a substantial upgrade to player vault space, as Bungie revealed in a livestream earlier today.
The Vault’s weapon section has been doubled to 72 slots, which are split into two pages. Armor is also sitting pretty at 72 spaces, which represents an increase of over 100 percent. The General section, home to miscellaneous crafting and upgrade materials, will not be split into pages but will feature 36 spaces.
Destiny fans have long requested an upgrade to Vault space and sorting, but it seems the Taken King’s new equipment was what finally put Bungie over the edge. The space will be absolutely necessary given the influx of new gear, which, thanks to the new Infuse mechanic, will be more valuable than ever. The introduction of the account-wide Legendary Mark currency, which lets players buy all manner of Legendary gear from Tower vendors, will only make space more valuable.
Bungie also recently revealed the minimum level requirement for The Taken King, and offered a breakdown of how Light levels will be calculated. Fortunately for the fashion-savvy, class items will now factor into player strength.
