Developer Bungie has confirmed a wave of "temporary (or permanent) time-outs" have been doled out to those deemed cheaters in last week's Trials of Osiris event in Destiny.
While Bungie noted that some players reported issues with connection interruptions, they also acknowledge that "There were some among you who took nefarious action against your opponents." To that end, Bungie's team of investigators have diagnosed the most egregious cheaters and begun issuing temporary or permanent bans.
"Bungie is always watching. We enjoy a fair fight and we aim to protect the landscape of the game," Bungie said.
That being said, Bungie also acknowledged that players who encountered the Olive error were not actually victims of cheating. That was actually a bug which, as of yesterday, has been fixed — just in time for the start of another weekend of Trials of Osiris.
