Yesterday, Bungie was supposed to activate Destiny update 1.2.0, the first of two planned pre-House of Wolves updates. As you're probably aware by now, that didn't happen. The update, which is downloaded but not technically acivated on your system, was delayed for some mysterious reason. Now we know the reason.
According to Bungie Community manager David "DeeJ" Dague, the developers discovered a "technical issue" at the last moment.
"They're working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you," Dague explained.
While there's no timetable for the update's activiation, Dague did say that "progress is being made."
How this will impact the release of Destiny's second update, 1.2.0.1, remains to be seen, but Dague promised to share new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves "as they become facts."
Patch notes for both update 1.2.0 and 1.2.0.1 will be made available around the time they are rolled out. Until then, all we know is that they prepare us for the arrival of House of Wolves, which is coming on Tuesday, May 19th.
