When Bungie removed Destiny's first "loot cave," it didn't take players long to find an alternative location for farming Legendary engrams. This new location was at the Rocket Yard on Earth in Old Russia, and like its predecessor it featured 6-second spawn times (though it sometimes took longer for the mobs to actually make their way out of the room). Still, the drop rates were the exact same for all engrams as the original loot cave, meaning it was a very viable farming spot. Bungie doesn't want that.
"The Fallen have also retreated from their hold over the Rocket Yard to discuss a new takeover plan," Bungie tacked on to the end of the patch notes for Destiny's update today. I'm assuming Bungie has simply slowed the spawn rate of the Fallen in this location, similar to what they did with the original loot cave.
When Bungie closed the first loot cave, they reasoned that shooting at a black hole for hours on end wasn't their dream for how Destiny is played. Honestly, with the changes made to Destiny's loot system, you really don't need to sit and farm a single location anymore. There are plenty of ways to obtain Legendary items without mindlessly shooting into a black hole.
The death of the Rocket Yard farming location is just one of the changes brought on by today's update. The primary focus of the update is on weapon balancing, with a particular focus on shotguns, assault rifles, and the Vex Mythoclast which many argue is the most overpowered weapon in the game.
