For those of you who are still playing Destiny, Rise of Iron is no doubt on your radar. But if you were worried that Bungie was just going to rest on their laurels after September 20th (the day Rise of Iron releases), you can put those aside. Rise of Iron is currently the featured story running over at Game Informer, and as such, they've been getting some exclusive details straight from Bungie.
Here are those details:
- Festival of the Lost will return this year in October. Last year, Destiny players were treated to the event for the first time, which allowed them to collect candy around The Tower which then unlocked a unique mask and three additional quest lines.
- The Sparrow Racing League will also return late this year in December, which will bring tweaks to existing tracks as well as all new ones inspired by Rise of Iron.
Bungie's live team director Jerry Hook told Game Informer on the subject of the SRL's return:
"When we talk about SRL coming back, it’ll probably be wrapped in a different style, not just focused around SRL…Because some of the stuff that we learned from our players around the Sparrow Racing League is that some people didn’t like racing. So, can you do something with the event that helps support those players a little bit differently? Absolutely."
It'll be cool to see what kinds of improvements Bungie has been working on with the events over the past year, since they sound like they will be lots of fun. Oh, and if you want to see what it was like last year, watch us suck terribly at our brief Sparrow Racing League appearance last year.
