Destiny: Xur, Agent of the Nine, Tower location and Exotic gear (9/18/15)

The launch of Destiny's Taken King expansion hasn’t affected Xur’s weekly regime. Once again, he’s back at the tower (off to the left near the Emblem archive) with a fistful of Exotic equipment and obscure curios, but with a Taken King twist. Xur now sells Legacy Engrams, which will decode into the year one versions (170 attack) of year one exotics. Legacy Engrams feature a smart curation system designed to fill in the blanks in your collection. In other words, they will decode into year one Exotics you haven’t already found.

This week, you can find Xur in front of the door by the Speaker.

In addition to Legacy Engrams, traditional Exotic Engrams have returned. These Engrams will decode into the Year Two versions of any Exotics, new and old (provided they have received Year Two versions). Oppositely, weapons will not always be for sale. Fortunately, Xur now sells the consumable Three of Coins, which allow Ultras (Strike bosses) to drop Exotic Engrams. Three of Coins are bought in bundles of five for seven Strange Coins each. Their effect is only good for one kill, but it also stacks, meaning missing the drop on kill one gives you an increased chance on kill two, and so on and so forth until you finally receive an Exotic drop, thus resetting the counter.

Additional details and buying advice will be available in our full Xur write-up later today. For now, have a look at his entire inventory for this, the weekend of September 18, 2015 (please note: Xur is not selling any Exotic weapons at this time):
