Destiny: The Taken King newcomers may not remember the uproar that followed Xur selling the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher earlier this August. Fortunately for them, a whole new controversy has cropped up this, the weekend of September 25: Hawkmoon.
This week you can find him in the Hangar, to the right.
Initially a PlayStation-exclusive weapon, Hawkmoon was banned from Xur’s inventory in order to maintain parity between PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Now that the hand cannon is available on both platforms, Xur took it upon himself to make up for lost time and offer the year two version of the thing. We’ll get into that in detail later today. For now, have a look at Xur’s entire inventory:
Name | Type | Stats | Cost |
Titan Gauntlets | 45 Int / 41 Str | 13 SC
Hunter Gauntlets | 70 Str | 13 SC
Warlock Helmet | 75 Int | 13 SC
Hand Cannon | NA | 23 SC | |
Legacy Engram | Primary Weapon Engram | NA | 31 SC |
For those wondering, Legacy Engrams were added to Xur's stock with the release of The Taken King as a way to help veteran players fill in the gaps in their exotic collection. Legacies decode into year one versions of year one exotics that you have not yet found. So if you're missing The Last Word, Red Death, Suros Regime or so on, and would like to unlock their year one versions (which may then be upgraded), pick up a Legacy primary this weekend.
