Jarosław Zieliński, CEO of Destructive Creations, the studio behind the controversial shooter Hatred, has been arrested.
Earlier today, the studio posted a message about Zieliński's arrest, confirming he's been charged of "violence propaganda" — likely over the game his studio has been working on.
Revealed last year, Hatred quickly made headlines for its over-the-top graphic violence in which players roam the streets of New York as a nameless killer on a massive killing spree. The game has been criticized for its graphic nature, specifically its brutal execution-style killings. Hatred has become so controversial that it was initially removed from Steam's Greenlight program for a short period before being reinstated. Although there's a decent amount of player interest in the game, there's still a large part of the gaming community that disagrees with its premise, and have even accused Zieliński as being racist.
While available for pre-order, Hatred is still in development; however, it looks like the arrest of Zieliński will have an impact on the game's progress.
"It seems that SJW's always win, their agenda reaches every government, even ours… We will keep you informed, but right now it seems we have to stop working on Hatred until the case will be clear. However – there's still a good side – another TV coverage," Destructive Creations wrote.
Oh yea… April Fools'. Apparently, this is Destructive Creations response to all the backlash and criticism they've received. Sorry I didn't reveal the joke sooner, it was just too funny to spoil.
