The Detective Pikachu movie that’s been whispered about this year has started filming this month. But don’t forget that the film is based on the previously Japan-only 3DS title of the same name. Well as it turns out, the game is finally coming to the West. In addition to all the content from the previous game, the West is also getting further content that rounds out the story.
“Detective Pikachu includes all the chapters of the 2016 Japan-exclusive Nintendo eShop release, Detective Pikachu – Birth of a New Duo, but adds further content that completes the story. The game features new locations to explore, as well as a colorful cast of both Pokémon and human characters.”
The game follows the story of Tim Goodman and his talkative and deductive Pikachu as they team up to investigate the disappearance of Tim’s father. This all takes place in a much more personal story than the average Pokemon game in a town called Ryme City.
In Japan, the original game was a digital-only release, but this new release will also be featured in physical retail stores, as well as the giant Detective Pikachu Amiibo. Just check him out next to the regular Pikachu Amiibo!
