Take a Look At Some Detective Pikachu Movie Props

The Detective Pikachu movie started filming this month, and as such, there have been some sightings of the production. A Twitter user came across a couple of film set props and shared them with the internet.

Twitter user HowBud found these props below, which include a police department sign for Ryme City, a posterboard for various notices about R.C.P.D. and mission Pokemon, another police sign listing rules, and what looks like a garage with vehicles covered in tarps.

We really want to know what’s under those tarps. They look small, like personal vehicles. They’re giving off some Officer Jenny vibes. Hopefully more is revealed soon, as these real-life props for a live-action Pokemon movie are giving off some major hype waves.

Detective Pikachu will be starring Ryan Reynolds as the gruff Detective Pikachu, along with Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton. It’s being directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps, Gulliver’s Travels) and written by Letterman and Nicole Perlman. Produced by Mary Parent and Cale Boyter. The Pokemon Company’s Tsunekuza Isgihara and Joe Caracciolo are also serving as co-executive producers.

The Japanese exclusive game the movie is based on is also getting an American release along with a giant, exclusive Pikachu Amiibo. The movie will arrive in theaters in North America on May 10, 2019.
